What is the DTE Energy Michigan Made Bonus?
DTE Energy offers the Michigan Made Bonus as a way of encouraging businesses to use energy efficiency products made in Michigan. Not only does the Michigan Made Bonus encourage DTE customers to improve the energy efficiency of their organizations, but it is also designed to help boost Michigan’s economy by incentivising making those purchases from Michigan manufacturers, such as Electro-Matic. DTE is awarding a 15% bonus to business customers who install eligible Michigan-made energy efficiency products, including LED lighting, certain appliances, and HVAC systems during 2014.
Who is eligible for the DTE Energy Michigan Made Bonus?
Eligibility for the DTE Energy Michigan Made Bonus is determined by the products purchased and the manufacturer purchased from. DTE Energy will award the bonus to its business customers who install eligible products in 2014 that meet the following criteria:
- Energy efficiency products must be at least 50% manufactured and/or assembled in Michigan (not including packaging).
- The manufacturer must submit an affidavit for each product that is installed as proof that the energy efficiency products meet the necessary conditions.
- Each affidavit must be included with the application for the Michigan Made bonus.
