Starbucks of Saginaw, MI Includes LED Lighting On New Building

Posted by Jesse Cameron on Feb 15, 2018 10:23:35 AM

Starbucks is known for their premium coffee, espresso, lattes, but also offer a selection of premium teas, fine pastries and other delectable treats that set them apart from all the rest. As stated on their website, the music heard in stores is specifically chosen for its artistry and appeal. With over 13,000 Starbucks locations in the United States, Starbucks has become one of the most recognizable brands of today.

As an international company, Starbucks stores are designed with high-quality architecture. So before the grand opening of their Saginaw, Michigan location, it was important to Starbucks that both the interior and exterior of the building were on brand —making customers feel welcome and comfort with just one glance. What's the number one way to present a positive aesthetic? Through superior, quality lighting. LED lighting is the perfect compliment to great architecture, as it highlights the building's strongest points while giving guests a beautiful sense of solace. That’s where the team at Electro-Matic Visual stepped in to provide Starbucks with the LED lighting that could match and surpass their expectations.

After Electro-Matic Visual reviewed and evaluated the project with its unique turnkey lighting and energy process, our experts engineered a solution that provided Starbucks with lighting that was more appealing to the eye, but more energy efficient and cost effective as well. To complete the job in full, the project required several different Electro-Matic Visual products, including:

  • (9) LED AP Pole Lights - ranging from 120W to 300W depending on location
  • (12) 2x4 LED Panel Lights - powered at 34W
  • (14) LED Wall Sconce Lights - powered at 15W
  • (12) LED AP Wallpack Lights – powered at 25W

The Starbucks of Saginaw, MI has been enjoying their LED lighting provided by Electro-Matic Visual since late 2017. They are amazed by how the building looks, and will be benefiting from the LED lighting for years to come.

Wilson Town Center is a premiere power center located in Wyoming, MI that features some impressive tenants including: Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshall's, Michael's, Subway and many more. The large property had traditional lighting and was expensive to operate. Wilson Town Center made the switch to LED lighting with Electro-Matic Visual to reduce operating costs, improve customers’ experiences, and overall safety.

Electro-Matic Visual was prepared for replacing a total of 55 fixtures that needed to be replaced with high quality LED parking lot lighting. The LED parking lot fixtures now illuminate the 230,506 square feet that Wilson Town Center resides on. Wilson Town Center previously had (40) 10,000 watt metal halide fixtures that were replaced with (40) 270 watt LED parking lot lights. In addition, they replaced (15) 400 watt metal halide lights with (15) 120 watt LED parking lot lighting fixtures. In both cases, they are seeing increased lighting levels and significantly reducing their energy usage.

The benefits don’t stop there. Wilson Town Center’s energy provider gave them a $17,000 rebate on the LED parking lot lighting fixtures to help cut initial costs of the fixtures. Also, Wilson Town Center was given an additional 20% off since Electro-Matic Visual builds all of their LED fixtures in Michigan. Electro-Matic Visual's Smart Wireless Lighting Designed to Improve ROI on LED Lights

Posted by Jesse Cameron on Sep 13, 2017 3:30:16 PM

Smart lighting is designed for ultimate energy efficiency and is a great compliment to LED lighting. Smart lighting wireless controls are the next big step to further benefit from LED lighting. Electro-Matic Visual’s wireless controls and application experience can enhance energy savings with LED lighting. These wireless controls allow dimming profiles to optimize energy consumption with lighting requirements and is just one of many ways smart lighting can optimize your ROI on LED lighting.

Smart lighting also includes motion-sensing controls and when integrated correctly with LED lighting the savings can be even more substantial. Motion sensing can be paired with wireless on/off control to automatically turn off individual lights or sections of lights. Motion sensing is also an ease of mind technology. Since the lights are turned on with motion and turned off with lack of motion, you no longer need to worry about shutting down after the day or setting up timers.

Smart lighting allows you to get numbers and reports on current draw, hours of usage, voltage functions and other data so you can see what areas you can improve on to maximize your lighting efficiency for your application.

Pfeiffer Used Car Lot Transitions From Dim Metal Halide to Brighter LED Parking Lot Lights

Posted by Jesse Cameron on Jun 14, 2017 9:51:55 AM

The Dan Pfeiffer Automotive Group has several different locations throughout the Grand Rapids, MI area. The result from having so many different locations is a lot of selections of great cars, but also a lot of area to light during the after hours. Pfeiffer Used Cars & Quick Lane Auto Center was searching for a more efficient way to increase their lighting levels in their lot, that resides directly off of Highway 131. Electro-Matic Visual stepped in to help provide a solution.

After the lighting audit was determined, Electro-Matic Visual and Appearance Products worked together with Pfeiffer Used Cars & Quick Lane Auto Center to complete the installation process. “Working with EM visual has been great for our LED lighting division. I rely on them to do site surveys, photometric layouts, and recommending the best product so all I need to worry about is selling the job and handling installation. And since their products are made in Michigan I know my customer is getting the maximum rebate possible.” – Ryan DeHoog, General Manager, Appearance Products.

Electro-Matic Visual and Appearance Products are happy to see that not only did Pfeiffer Used Cars & Quick Lane Auto Center receive a maximum rebate possible by buying a Michigan made product, but they are also reducing their energy savings by over a third. All 83 fixtures were swapped out from metal halide lights to Electro-Matic Visual’s LED parking lot lights for optimal savings and efficiency.

Pfeiffer Used Car & Quick Lane Auto Center will continue to see energy savings throughout their estimated life time of over 100,000 hours and with virtually zero maintenance costs, their LED lights for their parking lot seem to be the perfect solution.
